Federal government receives Russia's COVID-19 vaccine 'aide memoire'

An 'aide memoire' on the recently developed Russia COVID-19 vaccine  has been received by the Federal government from the Russians on Friday. 

The document was delivered by Russia's ambassador Alex Shebarshin to the minister of health, Osagie Ehanire, during a visit to the ministry in Abuja. 

The state minister for health, Olorunnimbe Manora, top management of the health ministry and other Nigerian scientists were present. 

Reports from the ministry's director of information, media and public relations, Olujimi Oyetomi read that the FG received samples of Russia's  COVID-19 vaccine with an aide memoire which "the details for Nigerian teams to study and get ready for further researches, patronages and application"

The final agreement reached was to refer the vaccine to designated institutes and agencies of the Federal ministry of health such as;  NAFDAC(National agency for food and drug administration and control), NIPRD (Nigeria institute for pharmaceutical research and development) 

Oyetomi emphasised that it was only an aide memoire that was received by the ministry.
